Final summer movie scheduled at Castleberg

The third and final installment of this summer’s Movies in the Park series for community residents is scheduled at Castleberg Park on Saturday, July 27. It’s free, sponsored by the City Parks and Recreation Department.

On the screen this weekend, Matilda, a 1996 fantasy/comedy film. It was co-produced, directed by and stars Danny DeVito, along with his wife, Rhea Perlman, and Mara Wilson in the title role. She plays a six-year-old child prodigy who develops psychokinetic abilities and uses them to deal with her disreputable family and a tyrannical principal at her school.

It is based on a 1988 novel written by Roald Dahl.

The movie will start at dusk, estimated to be sometime between 8:30 p.m. and 9 p.m.
