The 2018 edition of the ‘Drop the Drugs’ event is scheduled for Saturday, April 28 at the Stanislaus County Courthouse, 1100 I St., Modesto. Hours for the event are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This event is for area residents to drop off unused prescriptions, over the counter medications, and sharps for proper disposal. Stanislaus County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services hosts the event in cooperation with local law enforcement agencies.
For those residents unable to attend the program on April 28, you can stop by the Sheriff’s Department substation in Riverbank at 6727 Third St., any Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to drop off pills, liquids and over the counter medicines for confidential incineration; put the items in the prescription medication drop box in the lobby. No syringes accepted at the Riverbank station. Home-generated sharps can be disposed of each Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Facility, 1710 Morgan Road, Modesto.
