With the new school year just around the corner, staff members of Cardozo Middle School last week helped put some of the finishing touches on the 2019-20 school year.
Earlier in the week they had sent out notices to parents that last school year’s CMS Yearbooks had finally arrived and they would be available for drive-by pick-up on Tuesday morning.
Then they set up a table and shade tent in front of the campus, right on Santa Fe Street, where either parents or students could come and get their books. They even had additional units that were available for purchase, had a family not pre-ordered one.
Like the high school yearbook that had to be distributed well after classes ended for the year, the CMS yearbook’s publishing company was impacted by the coronavirus outbreak.
The design of the book has unique features that make the artwork stand out. For example, the picture on the back wraps around the spine and continues onto the front cover.
A colorful blaze on a black background flows from the back cover to the front. On the back, there’s a stylistic rendition of the school’s mascot, a bald eagle, while on the front is the year and the book title.
