The river at Jacob Myers Park was full of those seeking to escape from the triple digit heat the area has sustained for a number of days, this week and last. Early in the day on Saturday, the gates to the park were closed and walk-ins were being turned away, as the park was declared full, due to social distancing, forcing users to spread out in the park, and in the water. With the park closed, many users diverted themselves to the River Cove area, on the south edge of the river, with at least 60 cars parked along River Cove Drive. High temperatures were expected to continue through this week.
