June Events Offered At Riverbank Library

This June, the Riverbank Library will host a variety of free Story Times, arts and crafts programs, a free magic show for children and their families, and book club events.

Preschool Story Time will be held on Mondays at 10:30 a.m. Story Times feature new and classic picture books, flannel board and puppet stories, fingerplays, music and dancing, designed primarily for preschoolers ages 3 to 5 and their caregivers, however all ages are welcome.

Bilingual Story Time will be offered on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. Children can enjoy Spanish and English picture books, flannel board and puppet stories, fingerplays, music and dancing. This program is mainly for ages 3 to 6, however all ages are welcome.

Children and their families can enjoy a free magic show on  Wednesday, June 6 at 1 p.m. Magician Magic Dan’s show will encourage children to embrace reading and to feel good about themselves.

The Mayor’s Book Club will be held on Monday, June 11 at 11 a.m. Mayor Richard O’Brien will read a story to preschool age children and their families at the library, following Story Time.

This month’s Art Lab program will be held on Tuesday, June 12 at 3:30 p.m. Children will play with visual textures and patterns by coloring landscapes using a variety of patterns.

The Friends of the Riverbank Library will meet Wednesday, June 13 at 5 p.m. at the Riverbank Library. The public is invited to attend this meeting of library supporters.

The Riverbank Library Teen Book Club will meet on Friday, June 15 at 3:30 p.m. This month’s selection is Dear Marcus: A Letter to the Man Who Shot Me by Jerry McGill. A limited number of copies are available for checkout from the library.

Teens and adults can learn about aromatherapy through a hands-on craft on Tuesday, June 19 at 3:30 p.m. Crafters will make clay beads infused with essential oils. The beads can be used as wearable pendants.

The Riverbank Library Book Club will meet on Tuesday, June 26 at 4 p.m. to discuss Same Kind of Different as Me by Ron Hall and Denver Moore. Library book clubs provide an opportunity for community members to expand their knowledge of books, through meaningful discussion with others.
