The Bianchi Community Center in neighboring Oakdale will host a Candidate Forum on Wednesday evening, April 25, for those candidates running for Representative to Congress, District 10.

All candidates, Republican, Independent and Democrat have been invited. The forum is scheduled from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at the Bianchi Community Center, 110 South Second Ave., Oakdale. The evening will be open to the public and will be run by the League of Women Voter and the local American Association of University Women - Oakdale, Riverbank, Escalon Branch (AAUW-ORE).

Candidates invited to participate in the forum for Congressional representative in District 10 include Republicans Jeff Denham (Incumbent) and Ted Howze; Democrats Mike Barkley, Michael Eggman, Josh Harder, Virginia Madueno, and Sue Zwahlen; and Independent Scott Shoblom.

Each candidate will have a few minutes to explain his/her platform. The audience will submit written questions for candidates to answer. The candidates will have time for final comments. The League of Women Voters and AAUW are non-partisan groups and hope to give the public a chance to make an informed voting decision.

“Our citizens need to know that preserving democracy is not a spectator sport. Every vote is important,” stated chair Judy Kropp. “We look forward to seeing local people participating in an evening of sharing ideas and solutions.”
