Temperatures in the upper 90s and above are heading our way and in order to beat the heat, some folks may be in need of a Cooling Zone.
A Cooling Zone is a location to get out of the heat for a period of time to let your body cool down. Please note these are not cooling centers or cooling shelters designed for long term stay, just a zone for a quick respite from the heat. The following are the cooling zone locations that will be available during the summer.
The Riverbank City Council Chambers, 6707 Third St., Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and alternating Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information call 209-863-7122.
The Riverbank Library, 3442 Santa Fe St., open Monday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. and closed on Sundays. Call 209-869-7008 for more information.
Senior Meals and Activities at Riverbank Community Center at 3600 Santa Fe, will be open on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and on Friday from 10 a.m. to noon. Call 209-863-7150.
Riverbank Teen Center for ages 11 to 18 at 3600 Santa Fe St., Suite #A, 209-869-7026, will be open on Monday through Friday from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. now through August.
The Riverbank Community Pool with a fee of $2 per person is on the corner of Seventh and Stanislaus streets. will be open on Monday through Thursday from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturday from 12 to 4 p.m. throughout the summer.
