Visitors to the City of Action this fall will once again be able to celebrate a Cheese and Wine event in the downtown area, as the city has announced plans for another edition of the annual event, in just two months. Set for Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 14 and 15, it is typically held on the second weekend in October.

Labeled a Cheese & Wine Festival this year, activities are scheduled to include VIP tastings, a carnival, a classic car show, music, dancing horses, and lots and lots of vendors, with everything from food and beverages to merchandise.

The tastings are expected to include a wide array of locally produced cheeses and wines that will showcase the Central Valley’s most outstanding grapes, along with several newly imported varieties, all chosen to highlight the best and most delicious tastes of the region.

The admission-free family event will focus on cheese, wine, culture and community, organizers said. There is a fee for the tasting sessions, which this year will feature both wine and craft beers. Tickets, which include a collectible wine glass, are $30 online and will be $55 at the event. Tasting times are Saturday and Sunday, noon to 3 p.m.
