The Valley Sierra Small Business Development Center (SBDC) has announced that the Ninth Annual Business Women’s Symposium (BWS) is set to take place in Modesto. This event is designed to empower local businesswomen by offering opportunities to learn, inspire, and network with like-minded individuals in the community. Attendees can anticipate an enriching experience that promises to uplift and support the women of Stanislaus County.

Date for the event is Friday, Sept. 20 at Greens on Tenth, 953 10th St., Modesto, and runs from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The symposium will feature Ann Endsley, owner of Greens on Tenth, as the keynote speaker. The second speaker will be Jamie Griswold, owner of Culture Coffee Bar. The event will be emceed by Emmy-award-winning reporter Jessica Chang Irish, who will guide attendees through a morning dedicated to fostering connections and personal growth. Tickets cost $35 and include breakfast and an opportunity to win a raffle prize.

According to the 2021 US Census, women make up over 50.4 percent of Stanislaus County’s population. Many of our local businesses are managed, owned, and operated by women proudly serving their communities with a diverse array of services and products. This event will provide entrepreneurial women with the resources and strategies needed to accelerate their impact and strengthen their leadership presence within their organizations.

“This event encompasses empowerment, bringing together extraordinary women to share knowledge, connect, and build meaningful relationships,” said Brianna Taylor, SBDC Marketing Coordinator. To learn more or sign up, visit bit.ly/9thbws24; there are limited seats available.
