November art show and sale slated

The Fall Classic Art Show and Sale is on the calendar for Saturday, Nov. 9 and Sunday, Nov. 10 at the Social Hall of the Community United Methodist Church, 1480 Poplar St., Oakdale.

Saturday hours are noon to 5 p.m.; Sunday hours are noon to 3 p.m., with the Awards Ceremony at 2 p.m. Sunday.

The show is sponsored by students of Carol Earle and Community United Methodist Church; contact chairman Carol Earle at 209-380-6288 for more information.

Artist prizes include $200 and ribbon for Best of Show, $100 and ribbon for first place, $50 and ribbon for second place and ribbon awards for third place and honorable mention. Show attendees will vote on the People’s Choice award, which will receive $50 plus a ribbon.

Live music will be provided by Doug Kolsters, there will also be opportunity bags and food available for sale on site.

Cash and checks only; they are unable to accept credit cards.

The art show is open to all artists; entry fees are $12 per piece; classes are Landscape, Seascape, Portrait, Wildlife, Still Life and Floral. Judge will be Joan Cardoza, an award-winning artist from Oakdale. Works on paper must be under glass; all pieces must be properly wired for hanging.

The opportunity bags will include items from local merchants, goods and services, original works of art, gift baskets and more; with proceeds from the opportunity bag drawings benefitting the church. Drawing for those items will be Sunday, Nov. 10 at 2 p.m.
