Jack Brandt, born February 9, 1936, age 86, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 10, 2023. Jack was born in and came from Oklahoma in 1947 and settled in Oakdale. He worked at Rainbo Bread for 31 years then Hunts for 22 years. He enjoyed going to church and doing handyman work at his church. He could fix almost anything. He loved to travel. He loved all sports, was an avid player of baseball, fast pitch softball, basketball, snow skiing, water skiing, bowling, and any other sport he could think to play. He loved the SF 49ers, SF Giants and NY Yankees. His first love for a team was with the NY Yankees as he said when he was a young boy in Oklahoma, they were the only games they could get on the radio. In baseball, Jack was explosive off the plate, and around 1956 he was offered a position with the Chicago Cubs but declined as he made more money at the gas station in Oakdale. He loved baseball, fast pitch softball and was in the World Series of Softball in Florida, Stockton Softball Hall of Fame, Oakdale Sports Hall of Fame, Oakdale High School Baseball Hall of Fame, NorCal All Star team (led the league in home runs), NorCal All Tourney Selection and received many other sports accolades.
