Though the weather isn’t quite yet summerlike, the Riverbank Community Pool has opened for recreational swimming.
The facility is located at the corner of Seventh and Stanislaus streets, and is open from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and noon to 4 p.m. on Saturdays.
Recreational Swim
The drop-in fee is $3. Season-long passes are available, $100 for individuals, and $150 for a family of four, plus $20 for each additional family member.
Recreation Department officials note that holding a swim pass does not guarantee admission to the pool if it is closed due to capacity or for maintenance issues.
And all swimmers are required to wear a swim suit.
Aquatic Fitness and Lap Swim
AquaFit sessions are held at 9 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, for swimmers aged 13 years and older, with a drop-in fee of $5.
Lap swimming can be done during regular hours, for those 18 and older, for the $3 fee.
Swim Lessons
Two-week sessions are offered for 40 minutes each Monday through Thursday. Instructors will test the first day of class to confirm each child’s level. Registration is required and early registration is highly recommended as classes fill up. There will be a $5 fee for cancellation or transfer once registered. You may receive a refund if you cancel at least three days prior to the start of the class. No refunds on or after the first day of class.
Session 1 was June 5 through 15, and Session 2 started this week. Session 3 starts July 3 (with no session on the holiday) through July 14. Session 4 is July 17 through 27.
Diving Classes
Scuba classes have begun, also, with the first session held on June 11. Subsequent classes are on July 9 and Aug. 9, from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., also at the Community Pool.
Minimum age is 10 years old, and the fee is $15 per person.
