Pest Management classes scheduled at local libraries

Free gardening classes are on the July calendar, hosted by the University of California Cooperative Extension, UCCE, in partnership with Stanislaus County Libraries. The same class will be given at 10 participating libraries.

The program is ‘Pest Management in Vegetable Gardens’ and addresses topics including what pest is chewing your vegetable plants, or if your plant has a disease. Take this class to improve your pest identification skills, learn how to recognize beneficial insects, and how to sustainably manage pests.

In Oakdale, the class will be hosted on Tuesday, July 9 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.; the library is at 151 S. First Ave.; call 209-847-4204 for more information.

In Riverbank, those interested can attend the class on Saturday, July 13 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.; the library is at 3442 Santa Fe St., and for more information, call 209-869-7008.
