Riverbank’s Parks and Recreation Department has scheduled a new event to help residents celebrate the new year. It’s set for Wednesday, Jan. 1, when they’ll be holding a Polar Bear Plunge at the city’s swimming pool. The pool is at the corner of Seventh and Stanislaus streets in downtown. The ‘plunge’ is scheduled from noon to 2 p.m., on New Year's Day.
