Rec Department sets Valentine’s activities
Valentine

With St. Valentine’s Day on the horizon, the Riverbank Parks and Recreation Department has organized a couple of family-oriented events to celebrate the occasion.

My Little One & Me

A special Valentine’s Dinner Dance is set for Saturday, Feb. 8 at the Riverbank Community Center, 3600 Santa Fe. It’s described as a night to spend with your little sweethearts.

The hours are between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Tickets are now on sale. More information is available at the rec department office in City Hall North, 6707 Third St., Suite C, in downtown. The phone number is 209-863-7150.

Parents Night Out

Parents looking for some time alone can enjoy the night out, or in.

On the actual Valentine’s Day, Friday, Feb. 14, from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., the department will be hosting a fun-filled evening for youngsters ages 6-12, at the Riverbank Teen Center, 3600-A Santa Fe. It will include craft activities, a pizza dinner, and a screening of the movie Wild Robot. While the kids are at the Teen Center, parents can take the opportunity to enjoy a dinner out, a movie, or just stay home and relax for a few hours.

The cost is $15 for residents, $20 for non-residents.

Organizers warn that space is limited, so those interested should register soon.

Information is available at the Parks and Rec office.
