Region Sees High Wind, Heavy Rain Potential

The latest storm system to roll through the area is bringing the possibility of heavy rainfall on Tuesday, with storms forecast to continue through late afternoon.

The National Weather Service in Sacramento indicates the potential for heavy rainfall in the Northern San Joaquin Valley and Motherlode through 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 21.

Also, there is a wind advisory in effect Tuesday from 11 a.m. through 9 p.m. in the same area. Southeast winds of 15 to 25 mph are forecast with gusts up to 45 mph expected.

Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Strongest winds are expected late Tuesday afternoon into early evening.

Forecasters advise you to use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high-profile vehicle. Also, secure outdoor objects.
