Authorities noted that Riverbank Police Services responded to 597 calls during the past two weeks. The month of November is keeping deputies busy with calls for service ranging from a hit and run, theft and DUI.
RPS Chief Ed Ridenour also noted that National Law Enforcement Records Professionals Day was Tuesday, Nov. 9.
He stated, “I would like to recognize all the hard working records staff, especially those at Riverbank Police Services, that are the backbone of law enforcement operations. Their hard work and dedication is not always immediately noticed, but without them we could not be effective. I am very proud of our team and their commitment to doing their part in keeping our community safe.”
Deputies were dispatched to the 2200 block of Claribel Road, on the report of an intoxicated subject attempting to purchase more alcohol around 5 p.m. on Sunday. The subject was followed to his vehicle where he got into the driver’s seat and started to drive off as deputies arrived on scene. The suspect driver nearly collided with the arriving deputy and drove over a center divider/planter in the parking lot. Deputies eventually stopped the suspect, who was determined to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. The 61-year-old man was subsequently arrested for DUI.
During the early morning hours on Friday, Nov. 5, deputies were dispatched to a vehicle accident with injuries in the 2600 block of Stanislaus Street. Deputies assisted with a name exchange and all parties refused medical aid.
At approximately 3 p.m. on Friday, deputies responded to the intersection of Claus Road and Claribel Road on a hit and run accident. Upon arrival, deputies contacted the victim who was hit by the suspect vehicle. The victim’s vehicle had minor damage and the victim had no injuries. This investigation is still ongoing.
At 6:28 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 2, deputies were dispatched to a disturbance in the 3600 block of California Avenue.
On Tuesday evening at 6:55 p.m., deputies investigated a retail theft from the Ulta Beauty in the Crossroads Shopping Center, the investigation is ongoing.
Deputies responded to a hit and run collision near Callander and Howard Avenues on Tuesday at 8:16 p.m.
At 5:45 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 1 deputies investigated a hit and run collision of a parked vehicle in the 2600 block of Briarcliff.
