A thick fog and chilly temperatures that lingered on Monday morning, Jan. 20, likely impacted the turnout of a ‘Day of Service’ coordinated by Cynthia Prieto-Diaz, looking to do some volunteer clean up in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Here, the coordinator does some litter collection. The effort was an outreach of ESAL, Engineers & Scientists Acting Locally, and focused on the area of Patterson Road and Eighth Street, near a transit stop. Several items were collected for disposal by Prieto-Diaz and other participants.
