Situated at 3600 Santa Fe in the heart of the downtown area, and across the street from Cardozo Middle School, the Riverbank Teen Center is gearing up for another busy year.
Closed during the summer, the local center reopened for ‘business’ on Tuesday, Aug. 1, just prior to students returning to local schools. The first day of school for Riverbank students was Friday, Aug. 4. The Teen Center had been closed for the summer, from June 1 through July 31.
Teen Center hours, on regular school days, are 2:45 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.; minimum school days the center is open for students from 12:45 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The center offers not only a variety of games, but there is also the opportunity for students to do homework, purchase a snack and generally, have a safe place to go after school hours.
There is a pool table, foosball and air hocky games; art supplies for those who want to tap into their creativity, and video games can be played on both Xbox and Nintendo Switch consoles.
For more information, the Teen Center can be reached at 209-869-7023 during regular operating hours; outside of those times, contact the City of Riverbank Parks and Recreation Office at 209-863-7150.
Officials noted that they are also looking in to offering some fun teen trips through the Teen Center in the future.
