Riverbank Parks and Recreation Department offered the community a little bit of a head start on the Valentine’s Day celebration, by hosting a special My Little One & Me dinner-dance this past week.

They put on the event in the evening on Saturday, Feb. 8 at the Riverbank Community Center, running from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Moms, dads, or both, brought their youngsters to enjoy a dinner and an evening of music and dancing.

There were a couple of Valentine-themed craft stations as well, where the youngsters could create take-home projects, such as bracelets.

The dinner served included spaghetti as a main course, with salad and garlic bread, along with beverages.

A DJ provided music throughout the evening, while attendees ate, and then danced.

And while the Feb. 8 event was geared toward families, another Valentine’s program offers a chance for the adults to enjoy some time away.

Coming up on Friday, Feb. 14, it’s a ‘Parents Night Out’ as kids, ages 6 to 12, can be signed up for a program at the Teen Center. Kids will enjoy crafts, a pizza dinner and The Wild Robot movie, with hours from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

While the kids are having their fun, parents can take time for a dinner out, take in a movie or just enjoy some quiet time at home.

Cost is $15 for residents and $20 for non-residents. The Teen Center is at 3600 A Santa Fe St., Riverbank.
