Youth sports prepping for 2025 seasons
1-8 rybsa

Though it might seem like it’s a little early yet in the year, local youth sports organizations are beginning to organize for their coming seasons.

Baseball and Softball

The Riverbank Youth Baseball Softball Association has scheduled player evaluations for Saturday, Feb. 1 at the California Avenue Field, directly across the street from the elementary school.

At noon, 8 and under softball players will take the field. At 1 p.m., it’ll be the rookie baseball players, and at 2 p.m., 12 and 14 and under softball players will try out. Finally, minors baseball players will have their try out at 3 p.m.

Players are advised to arrive 15 minutes early in order to check in and warm up first.

Coaches will be evaluating player skills before they draw up rosters, but those who cannot come on Feb. 1 will be placed on a team by name draw before the season starts.

Registration for the 2025 season was held back at the end of November last year, but final registration for both baseball and softball closes in early March due to the scheduling of the drafts. Registration price increases by $25 after Feb. 15.

Those who are not sure what league their player should be in can register them to a league allowed on their website, http://www.rybsa.org then email rybsamail@gmail.com with any questions, concerns or requests.

Football and Cheer

What was previously known as Central Valley Outlaws Football is now Riverbank Outlaws and is formally a youth feeder program associated with Riverbank High School Bruin football. And there’s an agility camp along with sign-ups scheduled for the coming season later this year.

The camp will be held on Saturday, Feb. 22 at Silva Park in Riverbank, from 10 a.m. until noon. It’s for both young players and cheerleaders of all ages.

More information is available on the website, at http://www.outlaws.team.

The Outlaws organization is also looking for “dedicated and enthusiastic” coaches for the upcoming 2025 season.

To join the football staff, contact Keith Myers at 209-605-3859, or Frank Padron at 209-225-7267.

If interested in the cheer staff, contact Marzy Pizzarro at 209-501-3584, or Brook Phillips, at 209-380-2229.
