Guest speaker for the September meeting of the Escalon-Farmington Community Garden Club was David Yee, providing a talk on the topic of hummingbirds. He stated these birds are great pollinators and they return every year in the spring to the same location. Most of the birds travel on to the south in Mexico while some birds go to the Bay Area. Just getting back to business for the fall season, members of the Escalon-Farmington Community Garden Club invites all interested to attend their upcoming October meeting. The date is Thursday, Oct. 3 and the meeting will be hosted at Zinc House Farm along Highway 120 west of Escalon. Starting at 1 p.m., the meeting will wrap up by 3 p.m. and the feature will be a tour of the unique Zinc House Farm.

The guest speaker, from the farm, will be first on the agenda, followed by snacks, and then the business meeting closes out the session. There will also be a drawing for door prizes.
