Riverbank’s varsity Bruins basketball team fell to visiting Ripon Christian last week, while the Lady Bruins won on the road against their counterparts. The soccer squads were also in action with Trans-Valley League contests.
Here is a look at the recent winter season match ups.
Bruin Basketball
Riverbank boys played just one game last week, hosting Ripon Christian High School on Thursday, Jan. 18. The Bruins had a tough time in the Trans-Valley League game, trailing the Knights at the end of all four quarters, falling to the visitors by a 20-point margin, 55-35. Their season league record stands at 3-2, for fourth place in TVL standings.
RHS is scheduled to host Hilmar on Jan. 24, and travel to Escalon on Friday, Jan. 26.
Lady Bruin Basketball
The RHS girls traveled to Ripon Christian on Thursday, Jan. 18 and were victorious over the Lady Knights, 44-25, for a third place TVL standing and a 4-1 record at the end of last week.
The Lady Bruins were to play at Hilmar on Tuesday, Jan. 23, and are scheduled to take the court at Escalon on Thursday, Jan. 25.
Bruin Soccer
Varsity boys soccer traveled to Hilmar on Tuesday, Jan. 16, winning 3-0 in TVL action, then hosted Ripon High’s Indians on Thursday, Jan. 18, winning 2-0. The RHS varsity kickers stand in first place in the league, with a 5-0 record as of last week.
This week, the team was to face off with Escalon on Jan. 23, then will travel to Hughson for a Thursday, Jan. 25 contest.
Lady Bruin Soccer
Riverbank girls traveled to Hilmar on Tuesday, Jan. 16, falling 5-1 to the Lady Yellowjackets, then were shut out, 8-0, in Ripon, to the Lady Indians. As of last week, they were ranked at sixth place in the TVL, with a record of 1-4.
They were to play in Escalon for a Jan. 23 game, and host Hughson on Thursday, Jan. 25 as league action continues.
