As the Riverbank High School fall sports season winds down, and senior players get their recognition, teams for other seasons are just beginning their early practice sessions. Here is a look at some of the most recent autumn action for the Bruin squads.

Lady Bruin Flag Football

The girl gridders held their Senior Night festivities at the last home game on Tuesday, Oct. 22. They hosted Mariposa County, tying 12-12 at halftime but falling 32-31 in a heartbreaker, defeated by the margin of just one point-after touchdown score.

On Thursday last week, Riverbank wrapped up their inaugural 2024 flag football campaign at Gustine, closing out with a 38-24 victory over the Reds on Oct. 24. They finished their Southern Athletic League season in third place, with a 4-4 record.

Lady Bruin Volleyball

Riverbank’s girl netters closed out their Mother Lode League season on the road on Tuesday last week, traveling to Angels Camp to take on the Lady Bullfrogs at Bret Harte High School. They fell in three games, 9-25, 12-25, and 14-25.

Bruin Football

The varsity football team traveled to Angels Camp last Friday, Oct. 25, besting the Bullfrogs, 14-0, in Mother Lode League play. They’ll finish out their season this Friday at home, hosting the River Islands Riptide from Lathrop, for Senior Night.

Golf, Cross County

RHS Athletic Director Juan Harvey reported that the high school had one girl golfer, Klaritza Gonzalez, qualify to the CIF SJS Division 5 Tournament scheduled to compete this week. In addition, the cross-country team is slated to compete this week in the Mother Lode League Championships at Calaveras High School.

Coming soon will be preseason practices for both boys and girls soccer and boys and girls basketball, as well as the wrestlers gearing up for the winter sports season.
