Bruin golf matches went as expected. Riverbank lost to Escalon and Hilmar.
Riverbank lost at 225-312 to Escalon on Tuesday, and were defeated by Hilmar, 189-277, on Thursday.
Against Escalon, Bruin Kyle Vaughn carded 53; Anthony Chaidez, 58; Vince Benham, 66; Justin Walsh, 66; and Patrick Dean, 69.
"Escalon, I think has only lost one match and Hilmar is unbeaten. Nearly all the Hilmar guys were hitting one or two over par for the course," said Riverbank coach John Bartlett.
Against Hilmar, the Riverbank scores were Benham, 47; Walsh, 52; Vaughn, 53; Dean, 60; Chaidez, 65; and Ben Richison, 65.
"Benham did well against Hilmar," said Bartlett. "Both he and Vaughn only started playing with the school team last year. Vince did better when he was number three and the pressure was off. But he's playing well now."
In the only golf scheduled this week, the team was hosted the RHS Pro-Am on Tuesday. In this, teachers were invited to pair up with a student and play in a fund-raiser.
It cost each teacher $20 to play, but the money will go to buy equipment for the golf team.
The other match slated this week, against Patterson, was moved to next Monday. The final League Meet is slated for Thursday of next week, and will be played in Manteca.
