Riverbank High’s varsity football Bruins scrimmaged on Saturday night in Woodland, in a Round-Robin series against both Woodland High School and Esparto.
Head Varsity Coach Kit Jory reported the day went very well. He said the players had the chance to see their first contact of the season against another team.
He noted that his players’ “dedication to learning the progression of the offensive system and their commitment to the off-season program has definitely borne fruit.”
Jory noted that Allen Brown had multiple rushes and receptions, including three touchdowns on the night. Isis Villagran and Fidel Herrera scored as well. He said both David Echevarria and Daniel Madueño hauled in multiple pass receptions.
“The defense took a huge step forward,” in a switch in the coverage scheme, the coach said. “They had multiple interceptions, tackles for losses, sacks, forced fumbles and fumble recoveries. The defense gave up a single TD to Esparto.”
