The Riverbank High soccer program put together a near perfect first half of action in their Trans-Valley League contest against the Escalon Lady Cougars, but a minor slip up in the half's final few minutes seemed to plague the Lady Bruins through the remainder of the their 5-0 loss to the Cougars in league play on Thursday, April 10.

Riverbank was methodical throughout the game's first 35 minutes, taking care of the soccer ball and applying constant pressure on the Cougars with non-stop attacks on goal.

Riverbank got off several shots on goal, yet was unable to convert on any of the shots. Escalon took prime advantage of a late-half Riverbank lapse when a Riverbank player tried to clear out a shot in front of the Riverbank goal only to have the ball squeak under her attempt and rest perfectly in line for an easy Escalon goal.

The intermission whistle came soon thereafter and Riverbank was forced into an urgency role with likely their best half of soccer put on display for the home crowd.
